It is starting to get to be that time of year again when all you want to do is lay around and watch tv. You lack motivation to do some of your everyday activities and you want to just stay in bed. When those feelings hit, instead of letting them sink in choose to combat them. This is easier said than done, but if you keep reading you will find that knocking the blues can lead to a healthier you. I am not talking about completely changing your life around, I am just suggesting some great ways in which you can do little things each day to make your body and mind feel better than ever before. Working all day, five days a week can definitely take a toll on you, especially if it involves a long commute as well. After work it is easy to want to just crash on the couch and throw on some Netflix. However, this trend is not great. First off you are allowing yourself to enter a lazy, sedimentary state. Two, you are probably tuning yourself out from people around you, unless you live alone of course. There is no need to completely cut television out of your daily life, but consider doing a different activity in place of lounging and turning on a show. Maybe choose to read a book that will help stimulate brain activity. Perhaps play a board game with your friends or family. Being around people can really help boost your mood! You may even want to take this time to work out or pick up a new hobby you have been meaning to try.

Are you not quite a gym gal or guy? No worries, there are so many activities out there, you can find one that is perfect for you. Think back and ask yourself if there is anything you have been wanting to try. This could be pottery, horseback riding, camping, sailing, you name it. Pick one thing and go out and do it! Trying something new will definitely spark something in you that will benefit your overall wellbeing. Another thing to consider is fueling your body with better food. There is no need to get rid of all the things you enjoy, but definitely think about what you are putting into your body. A more balanced diet will help your body feel great day in and day out!

Overall, it is fairly easy to find ways to help you feel like a better you. Do not let yourself hold you back and in a short time you will be on your way to feeling like your best self!
